How to use Custom Template on issue descriptions

Here you are going to know how to Create and View Description template Step by Step

Create new Template

  • First you need to go to “Apps” and find de “Custom Template” section.

  • There you can Create a new one with the “Create Template” button.

  • A dialog will open where we are going to set a Title and the Content of the template:

 

  • Click submit when you are ready and the Template is going to appear.

Only administrators of Jira can create a Template

Manage Template

  • In the section mentioned before we are going to be able to Edit/Delete or create a new Template:

     

Add Template to issue

  • In every view of an Issue, you are going to find the templates in 2 sites:

    • At the right side on the issue details:

    • Below description field:

  • The 2 sites are exactly the same, select the Template that we created before and click “Send”

  • A confirmation dialog will open on we can see/edit the Template content:

  • When we are ready click “Submit” and refresh the page

  • The new description will be added:
